Photograph of Chris I grew up in a non-Christian home, my mother was Church of Scotland (never attended); my stepfather was Roman Catholic (attended sometimes once a year). I moved
to England, got married, and our family began.

At the age of 30, I went into a music shop and heard the man behind the counter tell a young customer about Jesus Christ. He spoke about Him as if he knew Him personally and I cringed! But I later began to drop in more and more often
to listen to him and to chat about life in general. We became quite good friends.

One day I asked him quite out-of-the-blue if he would like to come to my home. He said, "Yes, certainly."

Driving home that day I wondered what had possessed me to do that, my wife would go mad...

The following day was wet, and I, as a roofer, was off work. For some reason, I went to the cupboard and found my wife's old school Bible. The kids had drawn upon it with crayons. I opened it just anywhere, Matthew chapter seven - "Judge not less you be judged!" The words cut through me like a knife!

Then John chapter one - "He came to His own, but they received Him not, but to everyone who did receive Him, He gave them the right to become children of God, to those who believe on His Name." I fell on my knees sobbing like a baby. I don't know how long I was there, but when I got up I felt clean and pure, I just knew that I had been given a new life. The past was gone, here was a new start with Jesus inside me.

When my wife came home, she thought that I had had a nervous breakdown of some kind, I kept telling her about Jesus.

When my new friend arrived with a friend of his, he was amazed and overjoyed to
see what had happened. And that's where my new life began. It also can begin for you too, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved."

Yours in Him forever.
Chris
