Photograph of Andrew I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. My parents were Catholic but weren’t really practicing their faith. We moved to New Zealand when I was about six years old. A few years after we arrived in New Zealand we met some friends of my aunt and uncle who had just moved there. They invited us to a church that they had started to attend, so my mum and I went along for a few months, but my dad, at the time, was not really interested.

Then, through a complicated series of events, some friends of ours convinced my dad to come along. After my dad heard the teaching straight from the Word of God, he kept coming with my mum and me. We had not yet accepted Jesus as Saviour, but when there was an altar call a few months later, my parents went forward and received God’s free gift of salvation. Then a few minutes later, someone came into the Sunday school to ask if anyone would like to go and receive Jesus, so I went up that same night as my parents.

I am now home-schooled in my second to last year and am thinking and praying about what God wants for me in the future.

I got into photography about a year-and-a-half ago, after talking to a friend of ours who is a professional photographer, at one of our church camps. He has been teaching me, and giving me advice since then, and I really enjoy the privilege. To start with I bought a used film SLR but have recently bought a used DSLR. I hope that if anything does come from my photography that it will bring glory to God.
