Peiling - Singapore
Nickname: Peiling
My name is Peiling, a Singaporean.
I grew up in a non-Christian family. My father is a Taoist, and my grandmother is a Buddhist. My auntie brought my brother and me to church when we were children. At the age of 12, I was baptized. However not long after my baptism, my father learned of it, and he was very angry and threatened to disown my brother and me. Full of fear, I stopped going to church. However, God is good and He never left me nor forsook me. By His grace, I went to Christian schools for my education between the ages of 12-18 years. Although I never attended church, God was very much in my life and the truth about His love for me finally gave me the determination to go back to church, even though my father did not approve or agree with my choice of religion.
It has been about 15 years since I came back to my Heavenly Father’s arms, back into the fold of His love. Life has not always been easy and my father has not fully understood why I believe, but I trust in God’s love. In God’s perfect time, one day my father, too, will know and accept Him as the only one true God and worship Him. One day, every nation, every tribe, people and language will stand before God’s throne and worship Him (Revelation 7:9).
In January 2004, by God’s amazing grace, I went to Scotland and did my Discipleship Training School (DTS) with Youth with a Mission (YWAM). This is a 6-month school where we had 3 months of in-depth teaching and training in Christian living and evangelism followed by 3 months of short-term missions. DTS gathers and challenges people to worship, listen to and obey God. It also aims to inspire and cultivate growth in one’s relationship with God and equip each one to serve God’s purposes.
I love taking photos and for a long time it has been for myself. As I got a digital camera and went for my DTS, I began to discover a greater love for taking photos and taking the beauty of God’s creation. Many people having seen my photos were inspired and encouraged me to sell the pictures. I pray that these photos would be a dedication to God and His handiwork and display the splendor of His majesty and awesome creation.
John 15:4, "Remain in Me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me."
