Photograph of Shawn I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior at the age of 8 but like so many others, I drifted away from Him for many years being caught up in worldly concerns. In 1998, I made a recommitment to Christ and made a genuine effort to find God's Will for my life. Since then, I have struggled mightily at times but have always continued to pray and seek His forgiveness and guidance.

In 2001, after 2 years of difficult waiting the Lord blessed us with a beautiful daughter from Peru. I truly believe that the Lord used the trials and tribulations of our adoption process to bring me closer to Him and prepare me for the future. The circumstances concerning our ability to adopt our daughter were nothing short of miraculous. Our daughter’s adoption was truly a hallmark in my walk of faith with the Lord.

Though I was drifting away from God at the time, in 1994 the Lord planted a seed in my mind to use photography as a medium of worship and praise unto Him. At first I began trying to match up Bible verses with images that I had already made. However, as time progressed and I began growing closer to Him I began logging ideas from my Bible readings and instead began creating images especially for the verses. In fact, I continue to do that even today, as the Lord has given me so many wonderful image ideas that I have yet to shoot.

Over the past two years my relationship with the Lord has grown stronger, though I have definitely had my share of difficulty with certain sins. Thankfully, however, I am walking as close with the Lord as I ever have in my life and am seeking His guidance. Day-by-day I am able to conquer many of the pitfalls that previously vexed my life because Christ is now the center of my life.

I am a part-time professional nature photographer and hope some day, if God wills it, to become a full-time pro. I also have a special interest in Christian apologetics and philosophy. I am thankful that the Lord has led me to PhotoMission so that I can share my passion for making pleasing images for Christ with others.
