AdrianBS - South Africa
Nickname: AdrianBS
A brief testimony:
I am the son of a former Methodist minister. My parents worked hard to try and provide me with everything I needed to succeed in life, including an excellent high school education. I was a citizen in what was once an 'apartheid' South Africa. Although I didn't believe in the system, government law forced me to complete 2 years of military service. I was conscripted at the age of 18 and really knew very little about the politics at the time. I managed to complete my military service without engaging in any hostile contact, for which I am most thankful. I would have been devastated had I been guilty of killing a fellow human being and 'Brother-in-Christ!'
After the army, I proceeded to work in the secular corporate world for 12 years, and managed to work my way up to a relatively high senior level management position. I felt that I didn't need anyone in my life, particularly Christ and the Holy Spirit, and I, in fact, rebelled against the Lord. By God's grace alone and most fortunately, after giving my life to Christ in April 2003, HE SAVED ME. Literally, He saved me.
I now work as a professional photographer and enjoy expressing myself by creating 'God-honouring' photography that can possibly be used, in an albeit miniscule way, to try to make this world a better place for all of humanity...for all God's people, irrespective of their race, colour, sexual orientation, religious beliefs and social standing.
I continue to grow in my understanding of what it means to walk with Him; to understand Him, to grow in and according to God's wisdom and to accept that heaven starts here on earth and that God is not 'out there' somewhere, rather by contrast, He is right here: God is part of this world, a part of us and I am, together with my fellow believers, a part of God's family.
