Nickname: Prodigal Son
I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior when I was 18. It was a very exciting experience for I had never been told about the story of salvation before. The Gospel has changed me a lot for I find the hope and faith to lead a meaningful life, despite the adversity and suffering following.
When I was still a high school student, I remember a day when I was on my way home. I was hit by a double-decker bus, being thrown away for a distance and fell on the ground. The passer-by came to see what happened to this stupid guy. With a little “brain storm,” I stood up by myself and guessed I should be in heaven then. My time hadn’t come but I was glad to know that I was prepared to face death. Physical death destroys us, but the idea/fear of death saves us. This fear of death will finally lead us to God.
My wife is also a Christian who I think is the greatest gift from God. Both of us are fond of traveling and in addition, I have a keen interest in taking scenery photos. I find that the beauty of the world is always present before us, the crux is how to discover it. The tragedy in our society is that most people perceive only the dark side of their life and ignore those nice scenes and people around. People just keep complaining, criticizing and blaming. I find myself sometimes having the same problems, and my prayer seems to be a disposal of refuse before Jesus (who acts as the litter bin). I always remind myself to be thankful and give praise to God.
One of my dreams as an amateur photographer is to travel on the space shuttle to take some good shots of the earth – the landscape, oceans, typhoons, volcanoes, the Great Wall of China, the moon, the satellites in orbit, etc., and to hold a public exhibition where the wonders of God’s creation can be shared among different nations.
