AWARD FOR BEST 'FAITH-BASED' WEBSITE PRESENTED TO PHOTOMISSION

Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, USA - An announcement was made today for an award honoring the creative design and functionality of the website that serves as the storefront for the PhotoMission ministry, www.photomission.com.

In an annual competition sponsored by the Web Marketing Association, the PhotoMission website received highest honors in the 'faith-based' category, one of 80 different industry categories where websites are evaluated on innovation, content, interactivity, navigation, ease of use and use of technology.

The creative director and web developer for the site is Andrew Milloy, who along with his colleague, Giles Chanot, took on the request to build the website in March 2002, agreeing to work on it long-distance. After two days of meetings in London with two of PhotoMission's founding members, the site was completed many phone calls, emails and instant messaging sessions later. It went live on October 22, 2002.

Connie Wragge of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, working in concert with Mr. Milloy and Mr. Chanot, serves as the editor and copywriter. Ian Homer, working in concert with Andrzej Legierski, created the logo; and Ghani Zaman wrote the inspiring text for the home page, 'Attempt Great Photographs for God...and Expect Great Results from God!' In April 2003, Gareth Williams contributed his technical skills to build three chat rooms for PhotoMission's members.

"It's perhaps not the way many websites are built, that is to have an ocean between the site's designer and the content writer," observed Connie Wragge, ministry leader. "Yet, God brought this team together for His purposes, and He took the site live. We prayed together online the morning of October 22, 2002, acknowledging that with God, all things are indeed possible - including building a website with only one face-to-face meeting."

Sponsors of the 2004 WebAward Competition include: Burst! Media, Google, Small Army Creative Services, Oddcast Media Technologies, VerticalResponse, Burrelle's/Luce, O'Dwyer's PR Daily, NEWSUSA, Line56 Media, VentureDirect Worldwide and Perseus Development Corporation.

Now in its eighth year, the Web Marketing Association, Inc. (WMA), an independent volunteer organization founded for the purpose of evaluating, recognizing and increasing the standard of excellence on the World Wide Web, conducts the WebAward Competition for website development. Its website is located at www.webaward.org.

PhotoMission is a worldwide community of Christian photographers that has grown to 83 members living in 14 countries. This year, Jason Powers and Paul Triller joined the ministry team, bringing to five the total number of Christian photographers who voluntarily serve in this capacity.
