NEW INTERNATIONAL MINISTRY FOR CHRISTIAN PHOTOGRAPHERS LAUNCHES ON THE INTERNET

Founding members affirm the truth of Mark 10:27 as www.photomission.com goes live

Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, USA - Cardiff, Wales, UK - Bhubaneswar, Orissa, India - Three photographers, whose shared faith in Christ led them to form a ministry team spread across three continents, today announce the launch of www.photomission.com. The three believers are from North America, Europe and Asia and first met online through an Internet photography project documenting the arrival of the year 2000. From that meeting has come PhotoMission, a Christ-centered organization to address the needs of Christian photographers from around the world.

Connie, Ian and Ghani live respectively in the United States, the United Kingdom and India. As the founding members of PhotoMission, the three friends make all their decisions by email, instant messaging and phone. When they met through email in 2001, Connie was serving as the community liaison for the documentary and offered to help Ian publicize his photography. Two months later, Ghani wrote to Connie and six weeks later, he shared his testimony. Soon thereafter, God's Holy Spirit prompted the electronic connection of the three photographers who have been exchanging emails and praying for one another ever since.

In August 2001, God planted the idea of an international ministry for Christian photographers. After praying over it and recognizing God's presence among them, the three friends stepped forward in faith to found PhotoMission. At the time, they had not met one another in person.

"Clearly the vision God gave us for this ministry is today as it was revealed to us last August," says Connie, ministry team leader and president. "Members will find opportunities to post praise items and prayer requests and also exchange information on photography. One day, we envision supporting the Gospel with photography."

The mission of the organization further includes the posting of personal statements of faith by PhotoMission's members. Both professional and amateur photographers are encouraged to join.

"God has really blessed this ministry," observes Ian, vice president. "We have seen him work in miraculous ways, everything from meeting our personal needs to leading us to a Christian web design firm in London. Just as we work as a team across oceans, Connie and Andrew Milloy of Leaf Internet Limited worked together during the construction of the website. Each Friday morning, their phone meetings began in prayer. I know of no other ministry where such a long-distance endeavor, especially the building of a website, has ever been attempted."

Affirms Ghani, vice president, "Prayer is a privilege, and the three of us not only pray together but we have had a prayer support team of thirty-five people praying for us since November 2001. It is because of God's answers to these people's prayers that this ministry is real. God brought us together. Geographical distances are of little consequence when God is leading you."
