PHOTOMISSION PHOTOGRAPHERS OFFER IMAGES FOR SCRIPTURE TEXT CALENDARS

Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, USA - Sheffield, England, UK - Two PhotoMission photographers have joined with Peter and Paula Smithers in the production of a tool used to introduce the Gospel. Patty Brdar and Rajwin Chandy are two of twelve international photographers whose images have been selected for calendars where a photograph illustrates a Biblical idea. The calendars are distributed through Word of Life, a registered charity operating in the United Kingdom and ministering to people of other faith backgrounds.

This year, the Smithers printed 15,500 scripture text calendars in 11 languages. The calendars aim to relate to non-believers by using a scripture reference and a photograph to stimulate their thinking. The verse that will accompany Mr. Chandy's photo taken in Thekkady, Kerala, India is Matthew 6:20, "Store up riches for yourselves in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and robbers cannot break in and steal." Ms. Brdar's photo, taken in Petra, Jordan, is matched to scripture from Matthew 26:41: "Keep watch and pray that you will not fall into temptation."

Next year, the Smithers plan to print a similar number of calendars which are most often given to people living outside the country where their native language is spoken. The different languages represent areas of the world that are difficult for the Gospel to be presented in a more traditional form.

Both photos selected for publication will appear in all the calendars being printed. Ms. Brdar is a US-based photographer, www.pattybrdarphoto.com. Mr. Chandy resides in India.

PhotoMission is a worldwide community of Christian photographers supporting the growth of God's Kingdom with photography. Sixty-two photographers living on five continents represent the current membership.
